Cheap Line Conditioners = Degraded Sound?

I have a cheap Phonic PPC 9000E (european version) and I think it actually makes my recording i did last weekend flat/dull sounding. Anyone has any opinions or maybe you have had the same experience? Regards

Thank you very much! These can come in handy when I make a quick song with midi drums. But also when a snare or something was miced badly.

You can play them with Foobar2000 and with Winamp (maybe you have to download plugin component for it though) and the sound is lossless. I have added 320kbps mp3 files for you now. Regards

I had a MOTU MkII USB 2 unit and I would not recommend it because of the high latency and big cpu consumtion(spell?). Otherwise it worked really well. Regards

It is a one man company located in Rinkaby outside of Kristianstad, Sk?ne, Sweden. His products recieve rather good reviews here (hopefully not just because he's swedish like the reviewers). I also know that his CM3 small condensor microphone is a well regarded mic. I have the 19 inch, 8 channel mic...

Though my some what limited knowledge and being on an amateur level, I know that a Shure SM57 into a Electro-Harmonix 12AY7 preamp does wonders. I think I now know what people mean about some mics acting totally different with certain mic preamps. I have to get myself at least one or two more of the...

I like it

Please change the link because your URL link ends with a comma and therefore the browser can't find the site. I like this. It's is dirty/distorting sounding yet clear I think. Too bad there's not enough punch in the drums around 2:40 in Coat Of Arms but that is my personal opinion only. I wil listen...

Impressive! Did you figure out the choirs yourself or did you have some help from ready made notations? I love the 70s vocal sound you got when you come to the rocking part. I will listen to this/your version of this song quite a lot. Regards

Bump. Anyone know why ADAT sync/clock changes the sound so much more for the better than if using SPDIF protocol? Regards

Update... WOW

Here's an update. I have had my MOTU clocked to the RME ADI-2 via SPDIF coaxial and other times SPDIF/TOSLink now for a while and noticed some improvement. But the BIG improvement slapped in the face a wek ago when I bought two optical cables and clocked via ADAT clock. I can't believe the punchy ba...

The amber LED didn't light up when I had the clipping and gain at 10 o'clock. After I lowered the gain/volume/or what is it at the trim pot I didn't have clipping and I could use full gain without clippinf. Regards

Thanks for your responses! ipressrecords: I am using the FreeG, VintageMeter and MOTU's meters. MOTU's Cue Mix meters are quite bad in the upper dB's so I rarely check those. All my other preamps (MOTU, Studio Projects, The Brick and Line Audio OMP) don't clip at all. The 12AY7 is completely differe...
