For those of you who embrace bleed in recordings you engineer, is there an intentional, willful thing about it, or is it just a natural thing that follows from the "live in one room" setup? Any tricks or ideas you've learned that separate the pleasing kind of bleed from the kind that just gets in t...

FREE in NYC-Yamaha RM804 8 channel mixer & roadcase GONE

Getting rid of some stuff, haven't used this in years but it powers up and all 8 mic pres pass signal. Not a bad sounding mixer with pretty flexible routing. Headphone jack is missing. The manual is available online. Free to the first person who gets it out of here! Comes with a "Custom Acoustics" 2...

Re: Here's another Tron thing

You know I was just going to ask if there are any hardware synths that do decent 'tron samples. That thing looks beautiful, but $2400 is a little bit out of my price range! I'm assuming those sample packs don't work with other samplers... also out of your price range, but thought i'd mention it non...

For Free in NYC - back issues of TapeOP & MOJO

doing some housecleaning - I have about 30 issues of TapeOP dating back to late 2003 that will go into the recycling bin unless someone wants to come get them. Also around 20 issues of British rock mag MOJO from 2006-2008.

I am located near the West 4th St. subway stop.

Cheers!

the thing I found disappointing about the article was that it made it seem like AT is used either totally transparently, or as an effect. no mention of anything in between, which is what seems to bother most people around here... (myself included!)

from another interview (found here: http://www.guitarplayer.com/article/elliott-randall/jul-07/29354 ): What rig did you use to record it? That was my ?63 Fender Stratocaster with a PAF humbucker in the neck position, straight into an Ampeg SVT bass amp. The SVT wouldn?t have been my first choice fo...

I can't believe no one has mentioned the scene from The Color of Money...

even though it's Tom Cruise, it's another iconic example of Scorcese's use of music.

great song, although I think I prefer Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner!

I think these have been discussed on here before. I've used them pretty extensively. Short answer - they're well built, versatile, and the sound is nice and detailed. If you're looking for a U47, U67, C12, or 251, you should buy one of those as the Korby does not have the magic of those mics. If you...

that's one of the coolest things about them - the capsules can be switched without powering off the mics (but don't forget to mute the monitors/headphones!), so basically instantaneously...
