I did the Grassroots 2001 challenge, build and race a car not costing more than $2001 (for the year 2001) It was a 1959 Austin Healey Bug Eye Sprite with a Mazda 13b rotary engine (no turbo) welded in under the hood, 5 speed manual transmission That piece of shit did 12.8 seconds in the 1/4 mile (fa...

Man, There was this awesome place in LA that closed a year or so ago.. I have not been to a music store since.

This place is pretty cool to go into, just old recording equipment... They are closing too this year so hurry up.

I ordered one two years ago, received it one year later, and put about an hour into building it 3 months ago. I kinda forgot about it. I should really finish it up soon.

I got my Logex on eBay for $250... I found one that sold for $1300 on ebay a few years later.

I don't understand why.

The only limitations would be the amount of busses on the backplane. This is not really a problem because you can have an extra IEC connector on a ribbon that would feed the "master" section whenever you get around to designing it.

It might be easier to choose a small modular console and design a "replacement" channel for it... Tascam comes to mind... That way you still have frame metalwork, power supply's, faders, monitor section, aux amps, external returns, that kinda shit. Less of a mental strain when you can really use som...

I went to Portland last year with a bunch of other people to zoobomb (riding kiddie bikes down a huge mountan) and it was great.

I want to move there too, but have the same problem as you. There are studios and stuff out there but I think a gig would be hard to land.

Re: Deltalab Super Time Line delay

I get signal at the op-amp closest to the input jack, and I get signal at the input level pot on one leg, but nowhere else. what happens if you jumper the input leg of the pot to the output leg of the pot? Maybe your pot is fucked up. One thing to try is to Isolate the output of the pot from the ne...

Good primer on Linux DAW's

My girlfriend of all people showed this to me. Not sure if it has been posted here before but...

I've been using linux more and more for CAD type stuff, and have always thought about getting my TDM to run on it.

Eh, the myspace player sucks, but at the end of the day I suppose it's used to get people to shows.

On another note, I once recorded my vocals on a song next to the PT computer. Fan noise like hell. When I uploaded it to myspace, it was gone and I thought it sounded a bit better in some weird way.

Don't forget your Ampex 456 t-shirt tucked into said pants, or your Leatherman.

Some stuff I did last year: Not really for recording, but useful in studio's. Its a video switch/line driver, plus an audio -10 to +4 balanced converter.. Now you don't have to patch video and use up two external returns for shit like a DVD player and a cable box on your console. A board stuffed (fi...

The beringer is supposed to be pretty good.

Ok, I said it....

I read somewhere that the chip you need for ADAT format only comes from Alesis so how much more could the beringer suck to the AI-3?
