to The Thing
If you dug previous versions of DP, but were scared of the flac you heard about DP6, DP7 seems to fix it (I never bought DP6, so no first hand experience). If you don't know already, Motunation is the place to be for this kind of info. Lovin' it still.

I went from 5 to 7, missing the expense and nightmares of 6. The GUI doesn't bother me but there are at least two mods over at Motunation. DP7 isn't flawless, But I feel like MOTU is back on course now. Lovin' it.

4033! I only record one drummer (myself) and he insists on these. About 3" above the head, at the edge of the head, pointed at the center of the head. I wish they were less hot so I could crank the preamp more though.

Pluggo Jr is a free set of plugs from Cycling '74. It has a plug called spectral EQ that is my new favorite way to mangle an electric guitar track.

I should have said, All props to him though I probably couldn't have worked with him, but I would have loved to have tried. I'm a geezer myself and I realize all too well what we're losing with the passage of time.

I laughed out loud at the Snuff Garrett interview. Ah those oversized music business personalities. All props to him though I probably couldn't work with him.

Have the same model, have the same problem with microphones. Can't fix it with the built in pres, with the lines in you need an output control on your mic pre.

drummer friend of mine had Remo custom make heads for an odd sized drum. i'm sure it ain't cheap. are you measuring from bearing edge to bearing edge, not across the rim?
