Fathead Ribbon Mic vs. Shiny Box Ribbon Mic

The Fat Head was reviewed this issue, and the Shiny Box one or more back. Both in the same price range - under $200 for a basic model. Has anyone worked with both, such that they could offer an A/B comparison?

That wont empty your wallet... That is relative. I LOVE the latch lake stand we have here. I have used it on every single session since we got it. The people are great, and it would last you a lifetime. I would rather buy one of those than have 10 different cheap stands fail on me over the years......

Seriously - Larry and John - how about a future edition which gives a blow-by-blow of what it takes to put together an issue? That would be an interesting read.

Debbie Does Audio

While searching eBay for gear, I stumbled across this woman's eBay store:

First time I've seen anyone use head shots to sell gear on eBay.

Interesting store name, too. And the provacative way she is holding some of those microphones.....

Home Depot carries a product that has a corrugated hard plastic on the one side and OSB or plywood on the other. It comes in 3 x 3 boards which are tongue and groove - you fit it together like a big jigsaw puzzle. It is specifically designed for damp basements - keeps the wood off the floor. If I fi...

Had the same problem this weekend, only with my Voiceworks. Given that I live in Appalachia and have not many choices, I went to the only place possible - Radio Shack, and got this:

Worked like a charm.
