reel to reel repair. any tape gurus in here?

I have a tascam 22-4. It was working beautifully till a tape snapped during playback. It had already broke at one time and someone used some clear sticky tape to repair it, but the reel was so old the tape holding the tape together wasn't sticky anymore. anyway, now whenever I play a reel it starts ...

do you have this link: http://www.rane.com/note110.html i think #'s 4, 6 or 17 is where you want to look for wiring depending on the pin out. I was lookin at that, but I've also heard that one might want a transformer somewhere in there like in the second diagram from the top on the rane page - ove...

i'm going to investigate more when I get home from work. it appears the first channel of the snake is bad. I'm not using 21-24 though so I could just remove the bad channel...

I not normaled the next 5 columns for patching in the drum snake when needed. when I break the half normal on channel 1 and feed it to drum snake 1 the cable tester returns this: http://gyazo.com/ae5f3cdd93f523e6801c2348441dc4db.png instead of this: http://g...

stripped base plate on a schaller floyd rose...

I have a Schaller (floyd rose licensed) base plate that is stripped in one spot. instead of buying a $40 Heli-Coil kit for a base plate that is known to strip (and will probably require subsequent repairs when the other threads go), does anyone know if a real floyd rose base plate will work with the...
