Re: McCartney 3,2,1
i completely get what you guys are saying about track counts and arrangements - but i am actually addressing something different. It's about how I can record a single guitar or voice with a high end tube mic and chander tg2 preamp through a fancy tube compressor and it will sound good - but against ...

Re: McCartney 3,2,1
lots of good thoughts and glad others are finding the series entertaining. It is really cool to hear tracks isolated and to deconstruct such well known songs a bit. The thing I was trying to articulate in my initial post though, is even more about the sonic texture/tonality of the isolated tracks as...

Re: McCartney 3,2,1
annd WHAT ABOUT THOSE BASSLINES! (it's total love fest for Paul) but i forgot how amazing so many of those lines are. Just full of great movement and energy - aside from the great sort of melodic leads he plays as well. Super non-typical choices and really memorable.

McCartney 3,2,1
Did any of you watch this? It's a fun watch and I was struck by how good the isolated tracks sound when they pull them up and part of me right away thought "i bet they did some sweetening here" - maybe they did - everything sounds so fat and rich and buttery. I don't wanna go too far down the rabbit...

Re: recommend replacement software for CD ARCHITECT
thanks - I am actually pretty happy with my metering. I use Izotope INSIGHT2 for monitoring LUFS It's just nice to have all the other mixes in progress available to a/b with sonically and also to compare visually - in a separate app so i can have it open simultaneously with my DAW. So far T-Racks5 i...

Re: Mastering recommendations?
i agree the first step should be a conversation with the ME about what you'd like to hear tweaked. Having a reference or 2 can be helpful to demonstrate the overall tone you're hoping for (keeping in mind that they obviously can't make it into something that it isn't). Doing 1 round of revisions is ...

Re: recommend replacement software for CD ARCHITECT
looks like there is a module within T-racks5 that can do album assembly - and can also export DDP files (which cd architect couldn't do). i think I will snag that as part of their insane "25th Anniversary Group Buy" Promotion BTW - if you ever wanted a pile of their plugins for the price of 1 - chec...

Re: recommend replacement software for CD ARCHITECT
a little further explanation - i liked that I could have a session open in Cubase (32bit/48k) and simultaneously look at the other mixes (16/44) in CD ARCHITECT ... IF I want to do this all in cubase, then it needs to be a separate session from the one I am currently mixing and it's not easy to togg...

Re: How much do you "fix" without telling your client?
funny story an artist told me the other day... Years ago he was in a band with another singer and they shared vocal duties but always struggled as the other singer didn't have great pitch etc. Seemed like there was an awareness that this was a weakness and a problem. Fast forward and his buddy has m...

recommend replacement software for CD ARCHITECT
I am just finishing switching all my software over to a new computer (phew) and I'm realizing that I may not have the disc to re-install CD ARCHITECT - and even if I did, my new computer doesn't have a disc drive! I don't really need to make master cds anymore (very rarely needed as people can just ...

audio damage (the company)
has anyone had any dealings in the last 6 months with this company? I really love their plug ins but
I have been trying to reach customer support there for a few weeks now with zero response and i am
baffled and frustrated.

I've been listening to the very amazing country music podcast "cocaine and rhinestones" season 2 and there's been a lot of George Jones played on the first few episodes and I'm struck with the thought that a lot of these older albums from the 50s and 60s were probably mono plate reverbs panned down ...

Re: PC experts needed for upgrade quest
Does anybody have any experience here using the latest gen Ryzen AMD cpus? I've been advised that they are more powerful than current Intel and may handle processing for audio better.
