Hello Tapeop,
Would you run an interview with Steve Barncard, find out what he's been doing since making American Beauty and other Bay Area records? Maybe Dan Healy or Bob and Betty? How about a few words from Ousley?
Thanks,
Ricky
P.S. Love this magazine.

recording the Beatles
Its taken months to read through this book and just now got to Sgt. Pepper phase in the "Production" chapter. Brian and Kevin have made the dream journey a million of us have wanted to make and have been more thorough than 999,998 of us could have been. They seemed to have gained the confindence of ...

going home to Tape
Been recording my friends with PTLE PC for the last 3 years its fast and fairly cheap. After going to a once famous studio being revived with analog gear, I was inspired to dust off my 1/2"- 8, 1/2"-4, and 1/4"- 2. track otari machnes. I put up some tapes made before the PT rig came in the room, and...

Nearly 30 years ago I bought a precision bass that had been discoed. Jazz neck, body routed for a baddass bridge and rear split pickup. the pickups were dimarzio. I spent the next 25 years changeing the parts I didn't like. Replaced Jazz neck for a Japanese rosewood Precision, Filled in the rear pic...

DVD writer audio into pro tools
A blown power supply offered an opportunity to crack open my pc and install a dvd burner for saving and transferring PT le oo2r sessions. Giveing the Liteon writer a test drive as a player the video played fine but no audio. the computer uses the 002r as its sound card. The dvd burner is installed o...

You could create a folder for each song and export only the bwf. audio files from each song that you want the mixer to use. Drag the song folders into your cd burning program and create data discs for each song. That way the mixer can create a session on their daw for each song and import the audio ...

"AT TapeOpCon last year Cosimo Matassa said he used a U47 with Little Richard at J&M in New Orleans." Are you saying Cosimo Matassa perhaps doesn't remember exactly which microphone he used in the fifties? It would be of interest to know precisely but. all of the elements present when those recordin...
