Thanks for the replies. I'm am definitely not set on the mic list. But from what I know and the research I've done, the mic's I've mentioned so far seem to have the most practicality and variety of applications they can be used for. I'm really having trouble on deciding what condensers to buy. I wan...

Mic's Decision Dilemma.
OK, I'm having a little (huge!) dilemma deciding which mic's to buy. I currently have none (except for a 3 or 4 cheapo dynamics). I have roughly around $1,000 to spend (maybe a bit more) and I feel i should really get as many "workhorse" mic's first rather than ONE really GREAT mic or a zillion chea...

One stereo point mic; or 2 mic's?
Hey everyone, I'm in the process of buying some mics and I've been researching a whole lot on the forums. Out of all the research I've done, it seems people generally agree that the Studio Projects Mic's are a pretty good for the price. So... My question is regarding the "Studio Projects LSD2 Dual C...

Got the Cash/Money...for Mics!
I have probably around 1500 to spend on Mics. I have none at the moment. I want to record acoustic type folk rock (ex: CSN, Neil Young, M.Ward) type of stuff. Ideally I'd like to get the most mics I can, but i know that quality doesn't come cheap so I understand that less, but better quality is what...

2 Echo AudioFire 12's with a Macbook?
Hello all, Just wondering on your thoughts about this: 2.2Ghz Macbook (non-pro) running 2 Echo AudioFire 12's for tracking and mixing out of the box? I'm especially concerned about the macbook having only 1 firewire 400 port. I would of course track to an external hard drive, but where would that be...

Thanks for the tips! Well, i'm still not certain as to go the dual core or single core route. Because i think i might have read (maybe misinterpreted) that DAW software isn't designed or doesn't support multiple core processing. I think i read somewhere that cakewalk is barely the first to design so...

Building a PC...for recording....
Hey everyone, I am going to build a PC for recording. The type of recording i want to do is multitracking with a maximum of 24 tracks with not too many plug ins (whats "too many" anyways"?) going out of an interface or two. I'm thinking of either MOTU 24i/o (running Sonar) or the echo interfaces tha...

I've heard people mention "Full Sail"...what is that? Anyway.. I've heard people say recording school is a scam, but no one as specifically mentioned Los Angeles Recording School. That school has been around since the 80's. I personally toured the campus and all their studio's. It seems cool, but yo...
