Recording myself I love having it on a goose neck, let's you set the position using only one hand. It's the big threaded tuchel connector though, not sure I'd do it with a xlr-version. The clip on mine is extremely firm though, never slips. So whenever I need I feel I can rely on it. http://eskimo.c...

i think i am going to rack mine... then buy another one and make it a stereo rack. these things sound soooo good... stepped pots for the input and put a transformer on the input, as well... maybe a pad. been thinking more and more about this, i think it is a good idea. such amazing preamps at any p...

Re: Weird question: Anyone else satisfied with their gear?

"the Firepod is good enough. The 421 is good enough. The M300s are good enough." It's weird not craving more objects. Have I lost my mind? All I do is practice and write songs . . . Firebox and 421 in my case. :) I've been pretty much bored with gear lately. And considering I've been chasing gear m...

Well that sort of makes it even more weird. That thread doesn't even make sense. What it includes: 1. Joel saying "I love the tranzport" 2. A link to an ad in shape of a webiste frontier was pushing at the time where people could get freebees if they sent in a testimonial. From a guy who's probably ...

1. Joel gets free shit and goes and talks about it, like an advertisement. I have not ever, not ONE time gotten anything for free that I have posted about, unless I specifically said, "these people gave me something, and I reviewed it, an they let me have it afterwards." That has happened, um, almo...

Amen!

And it's not like it's a coincidence. Sage, Tranzport, whatever.
I'm kinda surprised when he "reviews" a product and you don't find him on their artist page.

I usually do vocals and acoustic at once with one 421. Just put the headphones on and move it around until it's right. I guess I put it about one foot out aiming in between me and the guitar capturing both kinda off axis.

Sorry to continue off topic but I'm glad to read Joel's comment. I have an M-Audio Delta 1010 and when I got it I did a test. I recorded 8 tracks of a band at 44.1 and then another take at 96. The two takes were mixed down to 44.1 with no eq, volume adjustments, or plugins. I fully expected the 96 ...

I have wanted to do this for a long time but my 3.2 Ghz P4 gets really hot even with 3 internal fans. I have thought about buying extra long VGA and PS2 cables and shoving the fucker in the closet but the multi-pins to my delta 1010's are only 8' or so. does anyone know if making these longer will ...

And btw, back then I went for the lazy solution and drilled a hole in the wall and put the fucker in the other room. Dead silent for 30 bucks worth of extension cables.
Using an iMac today appreciating not having to bother with any of it.

I actually translated the important stuff from that magazine three years ago:

They've removed the original page since though..
I'll check tomorrow if I still have the paper mag left and I could scan it for you.

Nope, sorry, should've mentioned that. Not my build nor my design. It's originally from a swedish music mag where they made one for in fact a G4. From his description the air intake is the slot at the bottom on the back and the air then then travels through the bottom space to a front chassis intake...

You mean like 24/7 everywhere they go? Making your stuff their daily soundtrack.
Yeah, I know, it's terrible. ;)
