Where are you located?

I'm looking around for some relatively inexpensive space here in town for a share/co-op sort of situation. I'm rebuilding my gear collection, and I'm at the point where I need someplace to work. I'd like to be able to track as well as mix, so I'm guessing anything that size means Soma, mission, port...

I don't know a ton about bluegrass, but this sounds really nice to me. The only thing I might change is moving the vocals a little more up front. I really like the tone on the guitar and mando, though. Those sound tops.

When I do that sort of stuff in (for example) house music, I usually use some sort of LP filter to just get the low "whump" without the tone/attack of the bass drum itself. The only warning I'd have is that you could really tire out your ears listening to monitors day in and day out. You should have a good time in Sacramento. I know the guys from Ghosts of California. I used to work in a studio with the bass player, and helped them record their EP. They're great guys and a really good band.

I have to throw in a vote for the Epiphone Valve Jr. heads. 5-6 watts, LOVES pedals, and can break up at a comfortable volume. Hook it up to a decent cab (has 4/8/16 outs) and it sounds phenominal. If you swap out the stock tubes you can make quite a bit of difference, too.
