just curious. i have the tube pre. how does it compare to the other three pres you mentioned? i'm looking for something to complement it...

i'm thinking about getting 2 channels of the c84's early next year and building from there... i got the hamptone tube and it's amazing...

i think the tube rolling just convinced me to get one. i wonder is there a tube combination to give it a low-fi "squishy" sound...

sennheiser 835 definitely gets hotter than a 58 without feeding back...

i never warmed to the 58. i went to buy one a few years ago on rep and they were out so i ended up getting a sennheiser 835. the mic whips a 58's ass all over the place. in fact i carry it on gigs because i know most of the time i know i will encounter a 58...

They look cool as hell... i'm in if you guys do a group buy...

for 900 and if you got the time to put together a kit, you can get 4 c84 channels from seventh circle audio. they are supposed to be based on the millenia hv-3 pres.
