Re: The dreaded Pro Tools upgrade
Im running 9 in the studio and Artist on my laptop. The laptop is an older MacBook Air that isn't supposed to be compatible but is fine. Features in artist make me wish the studio rig was more recent. Clip gain is a big game changer. I had to buy a bunch of plugs for the laptop but it really made.me...

Re: is there delay plugin like a delta lab effectron?
Seems I tend to be using the SoundToys EchoBoy a lot lately in places where I'd normally be using the Effectron. The EchoBoy has a fuck-ton of different parameters and flavors that can be selected, it's a pretty bad ass plug in. https://www.soundtoys.com/product/echoboy/ Plus 1 on Echoboy. I use it...

Re: is there delay plugin like a delta lab effectron?
I think the Bowie record is an Eventide Harmonizer. I'm trying to think of a record that I really leaned into the Effectron with...... Maybe the organ in the second part of this tune? https://fembotsband.bandcamp.com/track/a-million-dead-end-jobs Also, the drums in the middle of this one have a heav...

Re: is there delay plugin like a delta lab effectron?
Not so much. The modulation section give you chorus and flange sounds and then very quickly gets into bonkers territory.

Re: is there delay plugin like a delta lab effectron?
If you ever find one let me know. The effectron is a favorite of mine. I've got 2 in the rack and they gat a fair bit of use. So much of the fun with them is hands on and tactile though. I don't know how you'd replicate that. Nick, yes there are fixed delay times but the delay factor control that le...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
We bought a $199 Fender Squier "Tele 51" and had the shop string it up Nashville style. Can't wait to use it on seasons! I haven't even plugged the guitar into an amp yet!tele nashville 1.jpeg Nice! High strung guitar is always a great instrument.to have in the studio. Mine ends up getting used on ...

Re: digital playback device for live shows?
Jamman for the win. My partner and I had a rehearsal yesterday using the jamman and it worked quite well. I've got parts on order to make an expansion pedal for it so we can swap patches on the fly but even as is it's working. And I just built myself an extension pedal to toggle between samples/loo...

Re: digital playback device for live shows?
Thanks everybody. I've got a jam man on hold at the local used shop. It was a cheap enough solution that it seemed low risk.

Totally ghetto but try putting the amp on a car tire (no rim).

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
I do think these are gone now, you can’t even search for the item on monoprice anymore. They seem to be sold out everywhere except Amazon which has them at $88 apiece. Guess I missed the boat on these. There are a number of complaints in the amazon reviews about QC problems & noisy electronics, did...

Re: digital playback device for live shows?
Just to clarify, I'm looking to trigger existing samples. Any live looping, overdubbing etc is beyond my needs. I need something that I can load the samples onto and have them play when I hit the button/pedal/whatever. Some samples may be looped, some are one shot. Stereo would be great as it would ...

Re: digital playback device for live shows?
I have an old Digitech Jamman, that stores loops as single channel 16-bit WAV files on its CompactFlash card, I think newer ones use microSD and MP3 format, but it let's you tune / edit the loop and write it to the card, and then its just another pedal. Then there's percussion things like Roland's ...

digital playback device for live shows?
This question is making me feel old.... Way back in the early 2000s my band used to use tape loops as part of our live show. We'd have different sounds on the left and right channel and run the output to an a/b pedal to switch between sounds. Fast forward to the present and we're working up some of ...
