i read somewhere that they had to ask external people to develop the software, etc, hence the delay. just curious..what do you guys expect to get from this? more stability, etc in relation to something PC/MAC based? I like the whole concept of having a stable unit (unlike PC, but much like a HD24) ...

I predict that by the time it's released, it will be obsolete! As with the 2488..! Spending so much time in developement with digital audio gear only leads to outdated chips, converters, etc. By the time they think they have it just right, another company have released something better in front of ...

Tascam X48 - What is your prediction?

I've been anxious to see how the X48 will do once it's out on the market and people start using them. It sounds like the perfect solution for me, but I hope those things work as intended without too many problems - ESPECIALLY after taking so darn long to release it! What is your prediction? Will you...

Thanks for the replies, but maybe I should clarify more. If I get a tube preamp, I'll get the Hamptone unit. I won't mess around with the cheapo stuff. What I really want to know is what, if any, sonic differences/benefits there are in having a tube mic go into a solid state pre vs the other way aro...

Hey Just go to blacklionaudio.com they give a very good description of what can be done to make the delta 1010 even better. Tom They list 2 mods - analog stage & the clock. The clock mod isn't available yet even though they have a price listed. I'll assume that you had the analog mod done. How do y...

M-Audio NRV10 - anybody?

Any reviews out there besides marketing fluff? Any users? I'm not getting my hopes up, but I hope that it sounds good, compatible and stable. It could be a very useful tool in my studio.

Where to have the Tube?

I've been wondering about this for a while now. Can anybody tell me what, if any, difference in sound there is by using a tube mic through a solid state pre vs. a non-tube mic through a tube preamp? What could I expect if I run a tube mic thru a tube preamp? I currently have a couple of tube mics, b...

Black Lion mod? Can you tell me more about this? I've never heard of this option and I'm very interested!

audiofire 12 might be up your alley, with room to move as you grow. The AudioFire12 sure does sound good IF you can get it to work properly. I have a post on here about my nightmares with that unit. I ended up selling it on eBay after working with Echo's tech support for a few weeks. It turns out t...

If performance and stability are important to you, then I highly recommend the Delta1010. It's a 10 I/O unit (8 analog in/outs + 2 SPDIF I/O + MIDI) PCI card system. The sound quality is pretty decent, but not the best. I use 2 Delta1010 units for 16 in/outs along with my outboard pres and SoundCraf...

Goddamnit. I'm sitting here realizing this Dell doesn't have any freaking firewire inputs. WTF? My 6 year old Mac has Firewire! I just bought a freaking Firebox! Can I add a card to give it this ability? This is just exactly like one of those things you read about people doing, isn't it. :x ...
