You should contact the record label and identify yourself & explain the situation. I predict they will be happy to send you some samples. LPs are a much higher unit cost than CD, so it's possible you may only see the CD, which are much cheaper per unit. Copies on the merch table at a show were proba...

Our 388 has two burned out VU meter bulbs. I thought I'd easily find replacements online but this is not the case. Instead I found people "it's difficult, don't bother." Is this true? Is it harder than changing a fuse or a belt? Help me, 388 wizards. Do I continue seeking the parts (if so, where?) o...

I am not TheScum, but, yes, I'm pretty sure that's what he's talking about. You need to get two tracks out of your tape deck (left and right) and you need to record each one on it's own track in the computer. Then you'll have stereo. You should use the stereo RCA outs from the tape deck, or maybe th...

My 238 makes an ugly buzz on playback when the remote control is plugged in.
Maybe that's it?

Hey 239 Experts:

Is there any reason why the 238 shouldn't live in a tilted rack like this?
Does the machine prefer to be level?

Please report back when you're done;

I have a pair of these as well, so I'd be curious to know your results.

(Except mine aren't the wedge kind.)

This sounds like a project I could handle/afford.

I hope I didn't come across as grumpy.
I am sincerely interested in this project. Looks cool. Do the cassette decks pictured record?

I inherited a hand-me-down pair of the "Optimus" PZMs so I got two of these mod-kits . I hadn't really used them prior to the mod (and only a tiny bit since) so I can't offer much in the way of before/after. But I like to think I expanded the usability and longevity of these 2 homely mics, and I lea...

Do you mean just placing one head against (or near) the other one? With no tape? I never even dreamed of such a thing, but I'm thinking no. The sound of tape has a lot to do with the tape itself, no? If you can solve the belt issues, there's other things you might be able to do (tape delay, slap bac...

I would even set the vcr up as my recorder and do a stereo capture of shows or rehearsals. It worked great.
Yes! I do this all the time. It does work great.

A few years ago Dischord released some early Minor Threat stuff that had been shelved at the time of recording, for reasons that are now forgotten. The package shows the band (& Rollins) goofing off in the basement studio which apparently doubled as Don's childrens' play room at the time. Bad Brains...
