Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
1981 Korg Polysix - I've been synthless for a while, and am a minimalist so wanted 1 synth, a poly that was fully analog (VCO, analog envelopes and filters) but had a lot of nice features (chord memory, arpeggiator, unison mode for mono lines, etc.) and this was always the one i wanted. found a good...

sad day. i will not be surprised when their brand has been bastardized and trashed in 10 years time and Moog's are just relics of the past.

Early 60's Sony SRA-3 Stereo Tube Preamp. Couple 2 channel tube preamp that i'm using for direct instruments like bass, drum machine, synth, electric piano. Wonderful warm, thick sound. it's unbalanced in/out via RCA but that's not an issue for me. These were made for tape machines, they paired wit...

1995 Ibanez TL-5 Tremolo Pedal. Can be had VERY cheap like under $50 cheap. I have put it up against vintage Schaller Tremolo's, Boss TR-2, Boss PN, etc. and it just sounds warm and wonderful. They are a sleeper and if you do a search you'll find everyone that owns one loves it. Just not well known....

Re: Could Forums Like This Make a Comeback?
i feel like forum has a strong user base. it might be small but there are new posts daily and when there are questions/answers they are legitimate things, not fluff/comedy/filler. quality over quantity here at TOMB as for the age thing, i'm also 38 so i guess i'm on the younger end here too. i love ...

Re: Insuring your studio and live gear
there is also Heritage musical instrument insurance. i had them when i was on the road regularly. a nitwit headliner (bassist no less) knocked by bass off the stand and it fell and neck snapped. i got full replacement for it. you are right, homeowners policies don't cover it now. my insurance guy sa...

Re: Another Tascam 388 wonderer...
Following up on my own post... First off, Oz Fritz did a fab job with the mastering of my double album. I'd happily work with him again for mastering. Highly recommended. I'm still squinting at the Tascam 388, but pretty certain it just doesn't make enough sense for me. I'm not going to stop using ...
