Dana Hathaway left? Damn. Someone please post if they figure out where he landed. That dude was a encyclopedia of Otari knowledge.

Amen, brotha'. That first Metal Church album is great. I like the sound he gets with Deftones, as well, although they're not my favorite band ever.Everybody's X wrote:I also think Terry Date is a pretty kick ass

Re: MRL Tape Cost
$750? I got what I think is the most expensive one (2", 15 and 30 ips, long tone length) and it was only around $400.
Expensive, yeah, but not $750.

Re: An open letter to gear manufacturers from an end user.
We need to keep tape alive. It probably won't happen, though, and I'll be sad when it goes. I went to a "studio summit" this weekend and Jack Endino gave the keynote address. He brought up the fact that Quantegy only has a five year plan for keeping tape around (and that this was a year or two ago)....

Re: MOTU 2408 & 24I/O question
Awesome! Thanks for the info. I'll definitely confirm this with MOTU support; I got impression that CueMix made this possible.b3groover wrote:Yes. With the CueMix software (which is included) you can route any input to any output in real time.
Thx again!

MOTU 2408 & 24I/O question
I'm considering purchasing this combo to use with my computer and Mackie HDR 24/96. What I'm wondering is if I can route the 24 inputs on the 24I/O to the 24 lightpipe outs on the 2408 and vice-versa? Anyone know? I keep meaning to call MOTU support and ask them if it's possible, but I keep forgetti...

I'm about to go from 1/4" to TT when I move into the new space. I'm not looking forward to the conversion (or purchasing TT cables - OUCH) but I'll be hella glad when it's all done.

I've used a Royer R121 with an API 512c for electric guitars and have had no gain problems. I've also used with a UA 2108 with good results, as well.

That is the life (except the Capitol Hill part) See http://www.gradolabs.com/product_pages/rs1.htm God DAMN those headphones are freaking awesome. I had a pa...
