Re: Ignorance

On the flip side I get a lot of punk rockers who will record with me because I am an analogue recordist (or because I don't use PT.) It is mostly because they have had such negative experiences with it (or at least clowns who had no idea what they were doing with it.) A tool is a tool. Any medium ca...

Don't absorb anyone elses preconceptions   Man, that should be written on my forehead, in reverse, just so I can see it when I am shaving and getting ready for a session. Most of the truly horrendous mistakes I have made have been because I did not trust my own ears, intuition etc and i...

I just wish someone would do a decent mastering job on Birds of Fire by The Mahavishnu Orchestra. The CD is horrendous.

Re: How do you get that filter sweep in The Nazz "Open

I found a way to do it in SoundForge by taking to versions of the same section of music and pitchbending one of them ever so slightly. Then mix the two versions togther.

Re: How do you get that filter sweep in The Nazz "Open

I just don't know what they might be using... but I have a MicroMoog and/or Alesis Philtre that OUGHT to be able to do it if I understood what was ha...

Re: Most ANNOYING drum sound?

A few years back a friend of mine and I did a project called Santa's Bootleg. The premise was Christmas songs as if they have been recorded by famous groups. They were mostly original songs (formula: take thre of the groups popular hooks and change them slightly and combine into one song.) King Crim...
