The System - I have a dual 500 g4 running 9.2.2 (1.5g of ram), digi001 (running 5.0.1), only stock plug-ins.
The Problem - A friend of mine thought it would be a good idea to trash some preference files so as to keep the demo plugs that came with my copy of PT. Me , being a dumbass, agreed to let him. Well, now when I launch, it asks me to have a "key diskette", which I do not have, for authorization of each plug. I have to hit return about 30 times to get by all these. It 'll run but, it's a pain in the ass to launch. I've tried reinstalling PT off of my cds and it didn't fix anything.
The Fix - ???
I thought I'd try here before going to the digidesign forum in hopes that I won't get so ridiculed for my stupidity.
Anyway, thanks in advance. -AE

Re: return x 30 to open PT le 5.0.1
Just go in your PlugIns folder and delete the ones that are asking for authorization. ProTools won't look for them anymore, thus it won't ask you to authorize them 30 times everytime you launch PT. You won't have those plugins anymore (not that they're working for you now anyhow) unless you can reinstall them from the disk or a download.
