Re: stupid pc hardware question.
no.
bootable cd's are easy to make and much faster.
for saving files on a removeable quick access media. i would just buy a usb key. you can toss it on your key ring and the 128M keys are way cheap and durable.
EDIT: since i mentioned the USB Keys, i figured i should post a link for those that don't know. here ya go. buy them up.

Re: stupid pc hardware question.
For the $5 or so that floppy drives cost, the added bootable redundancy alone is worth it. I've had configuration errors where neither my hard drive or CD drive were being detected, and the floppy saved my ass.
Heurh!
Re: stupid pc hardware question.
thanks guys, As long as there is room I will instal a floppy.
Any comments on the rest of the configuation?
I will have a max of 24 tracks and prob a lot of vst-i's
This box will be mostly a writing and VST bitch box.
Garritan personal orch and the like.
My current system is a G4 (450) ptLE 001 system that is fine for most of the stuff I do.
I can lightpipe from the pc to the mac with the vsl2020 card.

What chipset is the mobo using? If it's using a VIA chipset, do not waste your money.
