Interview Idea
You guys should interview Tom Schick.
He seems like he's pretty much the Wilco house engineer now, so he's done the last few of their records. As well as a bunch of Jeff solo stuff, Mavis Staples, Iron and Wine, Glen Hansard done at the Wilco loft. Before that he did a bunch of stuff with Norah Jones.
Anyway it'd be interesting because he's really good, and I'm curious what it's like to work something like full time in an artist's studio where they go daily to write and develop demo ideas that gradually become albums. Kind of an unusual gig.

Re: Interview Idea
How funny. I just saw this but I'm hoping it'll happen soon. I might be in Chicago next month.....

Re: Interview Idea
Hey Larry! I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was interested in this story, but I wanted to personally thank you for doing it. I really enjoyed this month's issue.

Re: Interview Idea
agreed Larry, i loved how the whole issue was based on Tweedy, The Loft et al. I"m not even a Wilco fan but all the interviews combined gave a really nice view of how they work and the studio and just another way to do the studio/recording thing. bravo.
Re: Interview Idea
I read all the Wilco/Tweedy/Loft stories and was scratching my head how there could be that much coverage and not even one mention of Jim Scott?
He worked on so many albums with them. Helped them find gear and develop/upgrade The Loft.
What gives?

Re: Interview Idea
I forgot to ask any questions and no one mentioned Jim. Seems crazy, looking back.

If I was Jim I would have been at least a little shocked to read that.
