the author's note at the beginning of the article said that the TOp piece was only a fraction of the interview.
who here wouldn't want to hear more of this great man's wonderful memories, ideas and passion for music in Tape Op?
please consider having a pt. 2 Larry!
he's the father of the modern recording studio, and has so much more to share.

I ran most of what Mark sent us, just cleaned it up a bit. Mark would have to transcribe more, I'm not sure I could justify running more though as I have SO MANY articles waiting to run (40+).

Understood Larry - but i'd like to suggest an alternative.TapeOpLarry wrote:I ran most of what Mark sent us, just cleaned it up a bit. Mark would have to transcribe more, I'm not sure I could justify running more though as I have SO MANY articles waiting to run (40+).

If Mark transcribes more of it, can you post the additional material on the TOp website?
This was one of my favorite articles from your magazine, and ranked alongside the interviews with Walt Sears and Andy Johns.
Subjects like this are intensely interesting to me - my uncle worked at Radio Shack and then RCA for over 3 decades (50s 60s 70s), and his knowledge of electrical gadgets and tube technology was astounding. I love hearing how things were done and improvised in the old days of sound production.
If it's possible, please bring us more of this Larry. also understand, i'm submitting this as a REQUEST and not a COMPLAINT.
keep up the great work, anyhow.

Hey guys,
FWIW Les Paul still plays with his quartet every Monday night at Iridum in NYC. I finally went to see him last week and it was a total thrill to sit less then 15 feet from the master himself. After the set you can hang around and have him sign an autograph & chat for a couple of minutes...I brought my TV Yellow LP Special and a flange of 456! Man, he laughed HARD when I pulled that out of the case!!!
And yup, he signed both!
