I wanted to know what is the difference between a Pro Tools HD system and the HD 2 Accel and HD 3 Accel systems? Other then the prices.
Why are the HD 2 and 3 so much more?
Also do you get any A/D converters with it or is it just a card for your computer.
Diferences Pro Tools HD / HD Accel 2,3

More cards with the HD2 and HD3. The "accel" part is just the "process" cards.
You get a core card only with the basic setup, one process card with the HD2, and two process cards with HD3.
No you dont get any of the converter hardware in any of the setups. I have an HD3 rig that i got before accel came out, and i have never even come CLOSE to using up all the DSP. Even with like 52 tracks at 88.2k, with a bunch of plugs and stuff.... Had more of an issue spreading the audio over a couple of drives, because the access time couldnt keep up. Using two FW400 drives it worked perfectly. Even when punching in across like 16 tracks....
