Maybe this is a common problem, But my trusty fuzz wah has gone all scratchy. It makes an assload of noise when you move it. I was wondering if I can just replace the pot or clean it in some way or should I just dump the pedal and buy one with an optic mechanism?

First you might try working it up and down a bunch of times. If that dosen't fix it try spraying it with contact cleaner. If its still scratchy you can replace the pot, which will cost ~$20 or just buy a new wah.

The pot dies.
Dunlop makes a replacement called "Hot Potz" but I'm sure you can figure the specs and get a cheaper one.
I think some folks get a little crazy about tapers and such.

Some pots (like AB...Allen Bradley) can't be readily cleaned, since they are sealed. The carbon tracks in AB pots wear out after time and need to be replaced.
