There really isn't a lot in there to mod. A dynamic capsule. Wires. An on/off switch on some models. A rotary impedance switch & transformer.

I did refurbish one I have a few years back. The rubber isolation boots were decayed; I made new ones from RTV. The foam grille decayed; I put in a sheer black cloth grille to replace it. I also replaced the on/off switch because it was balky and didn't like to switch.

was it a pretty easy refurb?

im lookin at one for a great deal right now but its got a broken switch and its missing the grille cloth/foam...

im sure it can be all that difficult eh?
