Don't the firepods have 2 adat optical hookups too? Having 24 inputs on your first breakout-box would be pretty sweet... You sure wouldent have to upgrade for a while.
Motu makes some nice stuff but I gotta tell ya, I've been useing an HD896 for almost a year now and it still only works right when it wants to, which is a trend apearently with MOTU's firewire stuff. But when it dose work is sure sounds nice :]
