That's what I was thinking of when I heard it! BTW, does that dramatization accurately reflect the gear used on the recording? It appears the vocal mic might be a TOMB ribbon, no? And is that an Alice mic that is used on a bunch of other stuff?

Nice work i.r.! Matthew Sweet & Andy Partridge ain't got shit on you.

The bad cable bit cracked me up, and now I understand that fruit shaker and tambourine are not rendundant when used on the same song.

I actually sung through an MXL V67G...the TOMB ribbon was for show. The drums are mic'ed accurately M201 and 57 on snare, PR40 on kick, Studio Projects C1 on toms), and I did use the Alice for acoustic and for mic'ing the Magnasync amp during the solo. But all the hand percussion was actually through a Beyer M160. I just didn't feel like getting out the Beyer for the video.

The stereo Alice wasn't used on the backup singing (which is really just me  )--that was the V67G again--but it WAS used as a drum overhead, which is where I always use it.

Bass cab mic was AKG D202, rhythm guitar mic was M160...

Oh and that flanger on the vocals is Audio Damage Liquid!

I totally want one of those Magnasync amps now. And it's nice and small which is good 'cause I'm outa room as it is!

I'll try and render it later for ya. I posted a version without hand percussion a few weeks ago in the ADT thread but let me get you a full version. This is a rough mix either way...

And Tony, I've got a Fuzz Face in front of that Magnasync, so basically that solo is both of them distorted. I have to admit, I think it's a magic combination...

OK, here's a 192kbps mp3. This is a rough mix! There is no reverb or anything.

Thanks again for everybody's interest!

BTW, that acoustic guitar is tracked through the Symetrix 501, my new favorite guitar comp.
