Just got an RE20, not all that much success with it as a kick mic, so I was wondering what other uses people have had success with this mic.

It's my go-to mic for almost all male rock vocals.
They mostly come at night..... Mostly.

male vocals, bass cab, aggressively strummed acoustic guitar, horns
in referenve to your other post, i agree that an RE20 sounds terrible on kick

Years ago it seemed to save me when I had "not so good" male singers. The last time I used mine was on a guitar amp, but I added another mic to it. I think something might be wrong with mine...

I'm OK with them on kick, not overwhelmed, but OK. Won't distort, that's for sure. I do like them on 'weird' female vox, honky midrangy ones. Nice on brass, especially lower toned brass for live use. They're very tight pickup wise, and as such, get a lot of use in radio as announcer mics.

best guitar mic to ever to ever roam the earth. Great on bass cabs and some harsher vocalists.

I like the RE20 on the kick drum. I also like it on some bass cabs.
