EXPANSION BAY how does this sucker wok
I've been using older PT 24 system (888 and an 882) at home for awhile now with OS 9 and its a moneymaker, that system is just stable and won't be upgrading. At work we use the HD system and my partner asked me if I want the old expansion bay, how does that thing work? I've got PT24 card and 3 farms and I'm scratching my head if this would be useful or should I sell it on ebay for 15 bucks

I think if you decide to sell it you could get a bit more than 15 bucks.
Is it a PCI expansion box? Many computers only have 2 PCI slots these days and lots of ppl are digging those up.

OK OK I know I'm being lazy asking this but, yes I have an older mac with 4 slots They are all taken up, what does the expansion chassis hook up to though and how?joel hamilton wrote:If you have a core card and 3 farm cards then you are out of PCI slots. if you need more PCI slots for something, you need an expansion chassis.
if not, you should sell it.
I have a fantasy about scoring 5 old farm cards for 75 bucks a piece I guess.

I would do that, and get some old apogee converters to run with it for cheap as well, and have a totally slamming system.

Your system will rule if you do this- the only thing you will lack is delay compensation, which is easily worked around (though it's fucking annoying). If you are getting it free, you'd be a fool to pass it up! Farm cards are so cheap now, you might as well drop a whole mess of them into that chassis and see how many simultaneous flangers you can run.
Lots, I hope.
I love flange.
