Universal Velocity Microphone AV - XLR?

Post by timbertrout » Thu Mar 19, 2009 9:22 pm

I have an old Universal Velocity Microphone nearly identical to the one below.

Unlike the one in the photo, mine has what I believe to be the original cable, hardwired, with a very large 4-pin male connector.

My question is: are there adapters available to connect the 4-pin to an xlr connector, so that I can try it out? Or to I need to just have a mic tech person replace the old connector with a new xlr connector? (I have no repair skills whatsoever). I would prefer to keep the mic in original condition and use an adapter if possible...Thanks!!

If you can track down a mating connector, then an adapter cable is pretty easy.

Without knowing more about the connector you've got, it's hard to say if there's an off-the-shelf cable out there for it.
