Yes! Carr Mercury. Very handy amps around the studio. Very difficult to get them to sound bad.kayagum wrote:It looks like a Carr

Checked out the link. The Mercury sounds really nice. Reading its description I was thinking "this can't be cheap"... But damn, sounds really good.infiniteposse wrote:Yes! Carr Mercury. Very handy amps around the studio. Very difficult to get them to sound bad.kayagum wrote:It looks like a Carr

I interested in starting to use smaller amps in the studio.. Every band has a 4X12 and some high gain amp that I"m turning to 11 it seems. Would be cool to get that hugeness without the volume of a half stack.
I have a Valve Jr head. but need to find a good 1 or 2X12 for it. it drives the 4X12, thinking a smaller speaker or less would make it sing more.
ahh. just remembered though, its pretty loud as well since its been modded to a higher wattage.... Great for running drum machines through with it dimed...

Mu-Tron III
An old (i guess they are all old), and very much in need of TLC, Clavinet Model C. Needs new hammer tips, strings and yarn, but still looks sexy as hell sitting atop my Hammond A100. Can't beat red tolex.
I can't wait to get the Clav fixed up and running through the Mu-Tron and a delay pedal.
And something broke in my Leslie or organ, so soon, I will be acquiring service and parts hopefully, even though this is the busiest season for organ techs. Bummer.

Jim is the man, he posted his master section mod on gearslutz for the ATB. If he didn't suggest it, check it out and consider doing it.mr. nick wrote: jim williams PIP preamps x8 for my toft ATB? am i the only one disappointed by this board stock? jim williams is a pleasure to deal with and the PIP is an improvement!

totally 'invisible' upgrade from a G5 with PCIx cards.... but now we're future-proof.

Probably along the lines that the innnnernetz are way faster on my girlfriends MacBook than on my old G4 dual 800, which is my studio computer.. fire it up in 10.3 for protools and 10.4 for de innernetz and other "computer work".
