Got an Electroharmonix Memory Toy which hasn't come in yet and a Catalinbread SFT. I'm really digging the SFT. It's a very lower midrange kind of distortion.

Perhaps you have an undeniable appreciation for pseudo-rhumbas.

The Road is a fantastic book! I just finished Blood Meridian and highly recommend that one as well. The movie "No Country for Old Men" - :^: ! When that movie ended, I just stared at the screen in disbelief at the genious I had witnessed. Could not have ended any better!

As for Santa, he gave me 20 db of much needed extra gain for my Cascade Victor in the form of a TritonAudio Fethead. Have only been able to try it out, but damn did it'll do the trick! And thanks to all who cautioned against the Rode DPowerPlug.

oooh, i used to have one of those.

it was actually my first guitar cos my mom bought it in 1974 and then never learned how to play.

i loved that guitar...and then some asswipe wrecked the trussrod. :(

Get a set of C6 strings (C E G A C E) - you can't use a regular set for this - the lower strings will be way too tight.

Thanks, am browsing now. There goes another month  !

Nah.
Gotta be the pseudo-rhumba.

my folks were getting fed up with me telling them that I didn't want anything for Christmas so my dad hounded me until I cracked and told him he could buy into the Phenom II X4 965 I was about to purchase.

My Corporate Dayjob helped me to purchase the following things for myself for Xmas:

1. Phenom II X4 965 as previously noted
2. Kore 2 (w/ controller)
3. LiquidMix 16
4. T-shirt with a diagram of a vacuum tube on it (which prompted me to steal my dad's Sunn 200s so as not to be a total poser).

Besides the fact that Liquidmix is firewire and is fighting with my MOTUs (and Microsoft's broken FW drivers) like cats and dogs, it's the best piece of gear I've bought since my 01V96. Can't imagine life without it and I've only had it a few weeks -- remixed the entire album I thought I had finished because I knew I could do a better job with the LM16 (and lo and behold, I could!).

EDIT: Forgot an important one! My dad got a second copy of The Real Frank Zappa Book which I promptly stole and claimed as my own.

Definitely. It's just a solid album front to back. Speaking of REM as xmas presents, I asked for the new remaster of Murmur but got the original version (used, to boot). But it's the thought that counts and besides, I got plenty other cool music stuff:

a bunch of the Beatles remasters
Shakey - the Neil Young biog.

Spock is the Vulcan LLAP sign. For Dino you make a gesture like you've got a sock-puppet over your hand. Spock beats Rock (he disintegrates it) and Scissors (dude definitely knows how to run Scissors (he's freakin' Spock)). Paper beats Spock (it's less emotional than he is) and so does Dino (it eats him). Dino beats Spock and Paper (he eats it) and loses to Rock (gets his head smashed) and Scissors (he gets stabbed).
Dinosaur beats EVERYTHING. I don't care what your hipster shirt says.

I just got myself a pretty seriously deep Christmas present: New MacPro Quad 2.66, 8gigs RAM and 4 hard drives, UAD Solo, MOTU 828, and Logic 9. This is upgrading from a 1.8 G5 that is nearly 10 years old, so I think it was time.
