Phosphorescent records live, in-studio freqControl session

Post by nortstudio » Sun Feb 21, 2010 8:15 am

Come check out the live, in-studio freqControl Session with Brooklyn band Phosphorescent.

This session was recorded over the course of about 6 hours, no punches, no edits. Just real bands playing real music.

During this session, band leader Matthew Houck was personally invited by Willie Nelson to play at Farm Aid 2009. Currently on tour with artist David Gray, the band followed the session with some basic tracking at Headgear Recording, for their next release.

Yeah great site. When you first posted it here I watched the first two sessions, and actually emailed about how you guys were doing sound. Great stuff. I bookmarked the site as one to keep checking on. And as a graphic designer I have to say it's nice to see a site with a good idea being paid the attention design-wise that it needs. Great stuff. I've got the Phosphorescent session loaded here and ready to go when the lady goes to bed.

Thanks for all the great feedback folks.

We really appreciate hearing that people are enjoying something that we started as a way to express our passion for recording.

We have a few more sessions in the pipeline (keepaway, The Last Town Chorus, Indra) which will be posted in the coming weeks and months. More reviews and How-To's as well.

If you know of any bands that might want to take part in a freqControl session, and happen to be traveling through NYC/Brooklyn, send them our way!
