Thanks for the helpful replies. I have done the CHUD thing. I have switched to TRS to XLR. I have tried TRS to TRS. The computer noise issue is still there, though it seems to be quieter. I am now wondering if my NS10 monitors are having shielding issues. Mine are the older, vertical NS10M models. I need to borrow a pair of contemporary, shielded (perhaps powered) monitors and see how that works.

Crazy as it sounds, my favorite small room home monitoring setup lately is my pair of Realistic Minimus 7s, powered by the 250 Watts at 8 ohms Yamaha P2200. I mean, I have heard all the legends about famous hit records mixed on Minimus 7s, but these little guys sounds great in my 10x12 plaster room (w/ some acoustic treatment, but not much). Those mixes translate better than my NS10s...

Is it time to sell the NS10s? I'm hesitant---they're kind of like a Tele, or a Deluxe Reverb---you may not use them that often but you'd hate to be without them...

hmmmmmmm....
