New Space for The Bunker!

Post by JohnDavisNYC » Thu Mar 10, 2011 3:55 am

Just wanted to share with the TapeOp world that we are finally moving The Bunker.... 4 blocks.

We found a truly amazing space a little over a month ago, and have finally secured a nice long lease and signed it. We are thrilled (and terrified!) about what lies ahead, but it is going to be a BIG 2 room facility designed with Rod Gervais.

We will make regular updates on what we're doing.

Yes! Best of luck on the build.

Will you still be operating in your old space through the whole process?

The new location of the Bunker is truly a great location. It's going to be a pleasure to work through the design of this space with John and Aaron.

I am looking forward to this as much as they are,

Congrats John,

Amazing news!

Is anyone taking over your old build-out, or is going to be re-purposed?

not sure yet...

we are going to have 2 chambers at the new space, though... a 500sqft cement and sheetrock corridor, and a huge brick and concrete boiler room....

Can I live in the boiler room?

As John mentioned we are super excited to be making the move! It's going to be a big change for us and i'm sure that working in the rooms that Rod's designing is going to be a dream.

Also psyched to be bringing in a 1969 Steinway M to add to goodness.

Don't think John posted the awesome stitched photo he did of the raw space but it's over on the front page of our site and gives an idea of what we're starting with.

I always think of gay animals when I see the name "Rod Gervais". But then I realise I'm thinking of Ricky.

Congrats on the new space!
