Yes, micing a guitar amp into another w/ a hi-Z Unidyne was the Holy Grail.
Last weekend I used a transformerless Shure 565 on snare bottom, got exactly what I wanted. "Come... do not be afraid of my power."

I am intrigued re that amp mic'in' thing - I never heard of that before.
Plus, I just today got a EV 631 ...
Did I mention the Shiny Box 23L from the other day?
That came highly reco'd, and I heard some clips, and fell in love (thanx
