Newbie advice wanted - Otari MTR12

Post by JeremyPaulCarroll » Mon May 14, 2012 9:27 am

Hi!

I've just bought an MTR-12 II 1/2" half-track machine (originally came from Swanyard studios in London) for printing masters to.

Can anyone give me any advice, tips/tricks, possible pitfalls, things to avoid etc...

Here's some pics of the machine I bought:

It came with MRL alignment tapes for 15ips and 30ips.

Cheers,

Jeremy.

Looks just like mine, except mine is a 4 track. Nice machine! Lately i'd been experiencing this weird intermittent rustling sound on recorded material, it could be quite loud. It turned out to be the relays on the audio cards, just so you know if that ever happens to you. I guess it's not that uncommon.
