Anything recorded on Track 1 and sometimes 2 has issues with playback mostly with high frequencies and level dropping.
I've swapped cards around but the problem does not follow the cards.
I've swapped heads between a B-16 and E-16 but the problem does not follow the heads.
The MRL plays back fine on all channels. Maybe a little less pretty on channel 1, but that is pretty normal for an edge track. 2 seems solid.
I recorded a test tone on 15-16 and flipped over the tape and again it plays back "acceptably".
So I suspect something on the I/O board (cap or whatnot) in the print circuitry.
Anybody had this same experience and had it fixed by a tech. I'm not interested in digging much deeper into the machine as my skills are limited to easy stuff.
Thx,
Rob
