I had a Spirit Studio 24x8x2 at one point and the PS blew up on me. Not sure if the Spirit Pro Tracker has similar issues. On mine the issue was a diode that gets incredibly hot. It failed and took out some caps and the rectifier. It's a known issue as the PS is under rated and not really up to the task of running 24 channels.
You problem may be similar ............or not.

I think that's the exact thing that happened- I can see the scorched diode marks!

Well there you go. Mine was a loaner so I had it repaired instead of upgrading to a more robust PS. I don't remember it being a difficult or expensive repair. The were some lifted traces but nothing drastic. I think the repair has held but I don't think it gets a ton of use. The owner is a long time client of mine.

Any chance at some photos?
My gut feeling is that any switch-mode supply that old is easier to just replace. Switch mode stuff has come a ways since then - the state of the art moved up.
Linear supplies are typically pretty predictable, and easier to repair.
An outboard supply will likely be superior in either case. Do you need phantom power, or can you get by without?

Reviving again. I'm in Colorado and have had my PS in my ProTracker fail. When I turn on the mixer...the green light next to the On/Off button flashes but the power does not stay on. Anyone know who might want to take on the repair for me? I'm just dangerous enough to ruin my Protracker, so I'd rather leave the PS or possible recap to someone more knowledgeable. Willing to ship...PS, power board or whole mixer.
