Lexicon finally shows up today.
I also snagged a Jim William's modified Urei 546 EQ from Gearslutz for $500. It's a dual parametric EQ with 4 bands with adjustable Q and low and hi cut filters. Only thing missing is a shelf, but that's alright. Jim's mod is $400, so I think I got a good deal.

Ha! Funny those are the two top units in my rack (1968,EL8X)Corey Y wrote:Nice Ryan, how much did that run you?
Top 3 units in the rack are my latest:
EL8X Distressor
Drawmer 1968
ART Pro VLA II
I also bought a ton of new cables and got my patchbay all wired up finally. Got some Latchlake stands and RealTraps on the way too, still waiting.
On the Moog
No Sale, No Discount, No Guilt. (At least yet)
Not really a ton of these on 'Blowout' or 'Used'. I have been watching for awhile to find a deal, but I just couldn't wait anymore. I was going to pick up a Gibson Advanced Jumbo, but a good friend of mine just did, so I might as well get a piece of gear that nobody I know has, and borrow the Gibson when I need it.

A 50's/60's Hammond S series chord organ.
Mine is not the one picture above but is more or less the same. It came out of Hallamusic (a great Toronto studio that has recently closed) and I've put it on every record I've ever made there. I've been lusting after one of these for years now.
It's not a tone wheel organ and really has more in common with a tube synth than a B3.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the Drawmer on the mixbus if you get a chance to try it that way.Corey Y wrote:Nice Ryan, how much did that run you?

Not that you were asking me, but I will butt-in anyway.
I got the Drawmer originally for 'Drum Bus' and did an entire album that way. During that last song of the mix I decided to try it on Snare and Bass guitar instead, and I preferred it for those applications more than drum bus.
Then recently I have been trying the 1968 of Mix Bus, and it does seem to excel in that application. I think it's because it can slowly gently round off the peaks without me noticing it, but if a stray loud transient pops in, the program dependant Ratio can dial it's self up, and act more like a limiter.
Also if you really want to add grit, the output being pushed hard sounds very cool.

1980 Vantage VS650B from Japan's Matsumoku factory. Such sweet tone and playability, solid hardware, and premuim woods and crafstmanship.[/img]
The body is almost 2 inches thick with a nice glossy lacquer finish. Normally around $500 - $600, picked it up for only $240.

Thanks for that! I've been thinking of getting one and that pushes me closer...Ryan Silva wrote:Not that you were asking me, but I will butt-in anyway.
