Source for longframe patch cables or jacks
Anyone know of a good source for longframe patch cables or longframe jacks for making cables? The few that I've found have been pretty expensive. I know that's par for the course, but hoping someone might have a line on something.
Thanks.
Thanks.

They are expensive connectors, but that's the price for the quality and longevity.
I bought all my patchbay stuff from [url=http://www.patchbays.com]Audio Accessories[/u] in New Hampshire. They make the really nice, heavy duty, cloth covered patch cables including the very cool stereo patch cords.

Yeah, it's a bitch... But I guess the tradeoff for paying a ton of money for cables is that, as noted, the quality is a lot better, and also that my longframe bays have punchdown panels, so no soldering on the bays. Now THAT would suck even more than paying $20 for a 3' cable!trodden wrote:fek.. that's expensive. maybe i won't use those long frame bays that have been sitting in the corner.beard_of_bees wrote:http://www.redco.com/shopdisplayproduct ... I figure it would work out to be what 1/2 price or something like that?cwileyriser wrote:Yeah, it's a bitch... 5$ a side per jack, ~1$/$1.50 per 3 feet, shippin'..that about 12$ a non assembled cable i think..
I think in your situation I might opt to DIY too..
how many do you need?

I've made about ten patchcords with the one batch of jacks I found on eBay. I was just hoping I might find the magic place where the jacks are low price or someone is selling a bunch of surplus patchcords. I'd like to have a couple dozen more.beard_of_bees wrote:I figure it would work out to be what 1/2 price or something like that?

Cwileyriser,
I bought some super nice ones from Have Inc. They use quad cable and neutrik connectors, come in lots of great colors, and were only slightly more expensive than DIY with the same quality components (like $18.00 each for 2 foot longframe patchcords.) The workmanship is perfect.
