who makes the best short pedal to pedal cables
i recently outfitted my little bedroom studio with mogami cables and have been very happy with them. but mogami doesn't make the short cables you use to connect pedals together (why the heck is this by the way?) it would seem dumb to me to be using high quality cables everywhere in the chain except when i need to go pedal to pedal. that would sort of defeat the purpose. short of building my own who makes the best quality short length (less than 1 ft) cables? my only other requirement is that they are *not* monster cables. thanks!

You do!!
Get the George L's cable kits. You get a length of cable and several connectors. They are available straight or angled. The only tool you need for the angled connectors is a sharp sharp wire cutter. The straight connectors also require a small screwdriver. You cut the cable to length, press it into the connector, and then screw the connector closed on the cable.
If you have a complicated pedalboard, I think it's the only way to go. I've wired up several boards with George L's and it is easy, sounds great, and lets you use the minimum cable length. It's also cheaper than any other option that sounds even close, and the sound is miles better than a typical Hosa or Livewire cable.

Let me second the George L's - they're great! The difference between them and your garden variety RS cables is very noticeable. I was getting so much more signal, I had to change all the settings on my pedals.
Lots of added air, presense, and gain. I couldn't believe it. My autofilter was firing way early, and all my distortion/boost pedals had to be turned down.
I use them for instrument cables as well, though they get tangly at longer lengths. I've also noticed that the screw on ends sometimes want to come unscrewed a bit. It's a good thing to check before a gig or a day of recording.
Best part is - if the cable goes bad, cut that bit out and you're back in bidness...

I agree with you guys. Who makes the best cables? you do! However, I never made any solders-less cables, except for speakon. Knowing how to make cables is something everyone should learn how to do, it saves you so much money. That George L kit looks a little overpriced to me, but then again, I never used them.
Let me be the first to not say George L.

I'm confused by what you mean. The Stompin' Ground seems to be a good place to buy george L cable. http://www.stompin-ground.com/products/sgcablegls.htmswafford wrote:Let me be the first to not say George L.

I think you mean this Mogami and G&H link. http://www.stompin-ground.com/products/ ... h-over.htm
I don't think I'd like having bulky connectors wrapped in shrink tubing limiting the flexability of the cables coming out of my pedals. The Mogami may be a "better" cable, but I like the way George L's sound - anywhere between a guitar and amp that is.
