SPDIF D/A for the 002

Post by Red Rockets Glare » Wed Feb 28, 2007 9:03 am

Anyone using a SPIDIF D/A with their 002 that isn't the Apogee DAC?

Looking for something on the cheap.

The Midiman Flying Cow looks good, but only goes up to 48...

Supposedly the ART DIO was pretty cool, but they're not making it any more.

Nor are they selling any on eBay currently, but that's the idea!

I'm using a UA 2192 but they aren't cheap.
I know enough to know that I don't know what I am doing.

I bought a refurb Central Station from MF for ~$350. Dunno about the 002 D/A but it made a HUGE difference with my 001.

I'd try to track down a Lucid. I have an older ADA1000 that I picked up for $200.00 that I'm sure beats the pants of the ART and MAudio converters. It's only a 20 bit and only goes up to 88.2 but it sounds really good, was made really well, and was affordable.
