Yes please. I do have a 4 channel 500 rack, which needs some love.Recycled_Brains wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 10:00 amNice! We have 2 3D printers that I oversee at the library where I work. My crowning design achievement was making a CAD file for blank 500 series rack panels. I got so incensed when I tried to find some and realized people were charging like $15 for them.
Also, if anyone wants that file, hit me up.

Does a furnace count? If so....... A new furnace!!!!
Came home to a cold house. Apparently vintage is not a word that carries good connotations when you're talking HVAC.

Ughh. I’ve been there. Upstate NY in February and the furnace went kaput. That’s vintage mic kind of money right there.A.David.MacKinnon wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 7:24 pmDoes a furnace count? If so....... A new furnace!!!!

I hear you. I have a 22+ year old HVAC in the house (still limping along) and had to replace the mini-spilt A/C system in my studio this past summer. apparently they start developing slow leaks and once they are over10 years old you can't get parts...

Re: Latest gear you've acquired.....
The only reason I'd want a "vintage" furnace is noise level. The really old central furnaces didn't even have a fan, it was all done by gravity. The furnace in my current house has a little fan that feeds air to the burner, and it's annoying though I can live with it. Have to turn off the thermostat while recording.

Drawmer 1970 and a Strymon Volante.
I'm currently wiring up the 1970 to my patch bays as a mic pre and as a set of compressors. This thing is like a swiss army knife and I can't wait to integrate it into my work flow. Planning on using it for tracking and as a mix bus comp post D-Box summing.
The Strymon Volante is going to be used as a general delay and as a sub for my Echoplex EP3, which is getting up there and simply too noisy for some stuff these days.

I record, mix, and master in my Philly-based home studio, the Spacement. https://linktr.ee/ipressrecord

I think your winters are worse than ours here in Toronto. Even upstate NY gets it worse. Still, not a season to be fooled with.Burnt Ernie wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 2:59 pmI say this because I have Radiators. MMMMM! I got the furnace. Install will be way next week (the old one has been Mcgiver'd back to life in the mean time).
Next to buying vinyl siding it's the least exciting time I've had spending thousands of dollars.

For me, buying garage doors and then expecting to wait 3 months for them to be manufactured and installed is a contender for least exciting ways to spend thousands of dollars.

This. (Edited to delete photo of Swart Antares amp). My wife came downstairs and said “what is that sound?”
