Okay, I have Tannoy passive reveals (old red ones). Main problem with these is they don't go low enough.
I don't want punch or boom, I just want extension.
Considering I might want to upgrade speakers in the future, can you guys reccomend me a sub that could serve me well w/ the reveals, but that is good/useful enough that I might want to keep it when/if I upgrade the speakers in the future. Just trying to think ahead.
But the main thing is more extension w/ the reveals. I can't hear anything down there.
Reccomend me a sub? (tannoy reveals)

These are 10" powered sub, adjustable crossover on both channels and have a volume control so you can adjust how much of the sub you hear in relation to your Reveals. Best of all, less than $400.00. I am using one in the exact context you are asking about.

I have the Blue Sky sub and it was perfect for my room. I would be very aware of your room before buying a sub; to large of a sub and you might have placement troubles. I had a 12" sub lent to me from a friend, and I never could get it to open up fully in my 18' x 13' room. Droped the 8" 'BS' and I could have put it almost anywhere.dsw wrote:What price range do you want to be in?
Genelec 7050A is real smooth, runs $1000
Blue Sky makes an 8" sub for $400 that's not bad...
There's lots of subs out there.
The more you pay the tighter and smoother they sound.
But yes, Blue Sky's kick butt!!!
