Alternative to CD Architect?

Post by mdoomsday » Tue Sep 11, 2007 7:18 pm

Does anyone know of any CD burning software that shows the wave forms of the songs you are putting on the CD as well as allow crossfading etc. other than CD Architect?

One that allows for DX plugs per song and on the master buss, volume automation, support for multiple bit depth (including MP3), and is childishly easy to use? I have been wondering about this myself for years. It seems like their would be a lot on the market but I haven't found anything I like as much as CDA. If they would add VST support and the ability to pan, It would be perfect.

Check out Wavelab from Steinberg. Probably has everything you're looking for and more.

There's the mastering edition of Samplitude as well that covers the same territory.

I've been using CDA since 2002 and have not found myself wanting for anything else.

Steinberg Wavelab, Merging Pyramix, SADIE, Magix Samplitude / Sequoia, & SAWStudio with the JMS Audioware CSG add on will all allow for what you are asking for (and quite a bit more) - but at a price higher than CD Architect.

On the Mac side there is DSP Quattro, Bias Peak, and Sonic Studio's PreMasterCD and SoundBlade.

Acoustica Premium from Acon Digital - http://www.acondigital.com & Nero - http://www.nero.com - also can provide similar functionality as CD Architect except for the overall complete disc wav view.

Does CD Architect allow exporting to a 24bit wav file yet (for archiving)?

I'll second the vote for SawStudio and the JMS Cue Sheet Generator. Those cue sheets work nicely in Exact Audio Copy (free!)

I guess I should have said the functional demo is free, I think the fully loaded version is still quite cheap.
