I want to use a speaker to mic kick. What is optimum size and ohm for doing this? Any brand preferred?

just about anything will work. try a search -- there are several threads on this topic. "subkick" will get you a few hits on the search.

Thanks, yeah I searched for that. I just realized that we have an old yamaha 10" wedge monitor laying around with a blown horn. I disconnected the horn, hooked up an instrument cable to it, ran that through a DI into the board. This sounds pretty good so no need to buy more stuff.
