DAMN YOU AND THE HORSE YOU RODE IN ON!
no, not really. I am just jealous. My TC powercore is starting to show its age and I could use a new DPS card.
Though the Stillwell plug ins are doing almost everything for me these days!
Cheap to buy, free to try.
Everybody buy just one so this dude can keep making kick ass plugs!

I haven't used it in a mix yet, but even given the price, I'm not sure it was the best investment for me. I have a quad processor PC and can get insane plug-in count now. I really bought it for the Plate 140, but demoed that against the Acousticas plate IRs that I bought recently and didn't think the Plate 140 was better. Not worse mind you, but not better. I've also had some buffer errors popping up in PT when Plate 140 is in there. Take it out & I'm rock solid again.

Oh and BTW, I used a crap load of instances of Stillwell's Rocket on some demo tracks that I just completed. Love it, love it, love it! Stillwell and Massey are tops in my book.

the 1973 and badbussmojo are also excellent tools.

I tried to play with 1973 and I get the issue that when you have more than one of the Stillwell plugins installed, some don't show up. That seems to be an issue between the FXpansion VST wrapper and the Stillwell plugs that hasn't been figured out yet(I'm using PTLE). It's been posted a lot on some of the forums like the DUC. I couldn't live without the Rocket, so the others had to go!

More OT, one guy on the Audioease IR forum says that the Pultec EQ in the UAD free bundle is fantastic. Maybe I'll get my UAD issue squared away and try that.

I'm actually liking the Acousticas IR verbs better than the Plate 140 plugin, though both are fantastic. The Bricasti M7 impulses from Acousticas are insane.

Yea, they are nice. I haven't even loaded the Bricasti ones yet. I bought the E245 set and will buy the E252 before long. That's the other thing for me, I can load up a ton of IR plugs without taxing my CPU and I think I can only get a few Plate 140s on a UAD1 card. The guy that talked about the UAD Pultec EQ said he puts it on the 2-bus of every mix he does. No tweaks, just puts it there and it does something like the "audio equivalent of cleaning the windows". Gotta try that!

I loaded up the Bricasti IRs tonight. WOW :D Very nice & free!!!

Not that the IRs are quite the same, but I better understand why everyone gushes over the Bricasti M7.

+1 on this.

Stillwell's Transient Monster kicks ass too, especially on drums (also comes in handy to remove unwanted room sound, by turning the knobs down instead of up).

I grabbed two of them, i called and had them price match it to $99 cause they where at $399 i think. Went back a few days later to grab one for my boss and they where sold out. Sure glad i got the two i did. I was getting tired of surfing eBay trying to find something that included the vouchers.
