Ditto, Win 7 32 bit is running fine for audio.

So it seems that most of you guys running Windoes 7 are using the 32-bit version. I guess that would make sense. If you ran it in 64-bit not only your recording software, but also your plugins would have to be able to run in 64-bit and I haven't seen too many plugins advertising 64-bit versions. Am I right about that?

No, 64 bit OS can run 32 bit apps, but not as efficiently as 64 bit apps, and from what I've read, not as efficiently as a 32 bit OS running 32 bit apps. If the drivers work fine, then 32 bit apps shouldn't be an issue.

Ah, thanks for the enlightenment antiloq!!! Now it seems to make a lot more sense why I haven't seen that many plugins developers rushing to join the 64-bit bandwagon.

FWIW, I never went to Vista. I am jumping straight from XP to 7...
Wow . . . so 7 is intended to play nice with xp stuff? I might not have to pay to upgrade every audio program I own?

I never went to Vista either. Still back in XP-Land, waiting to exhale. This sounds promising.

I clung to win 2k for quite a while after XP came out. You could install it over and over again without jumping thru redmonds hoops all the time. I finally went XP about 2 years ago. Tried XP 64 but the drivers were awful. Tried Vista, crashed too easy, way too many background processes. Win 7 is basically Vista SP2. There are only one or two things that really set it apart from vista. As far as how stable it is? I have already seen it installed in corporate environments. Engineering, techkind of places that wouldnt put up with a new os just to be cool.
As far as apps, I run Photoshop 7 on my win 7 machine. Thats a 10 year old app! I also run Sonar 7, and cubase. The drivers for my Motu 828MKII work fine, the driver for the Zoom H4n work great.
On my mac I run Logic.

neat stuff;
windows key+tab
windows key+arrow keys
windows key+x (on laptops)
