Mandolin Brothers (Forest Ave. Staten Island) had a great luthiere the last I knew. But that was 15 years ago. I'd be really surprised if they couldn't take care of that crack for you, though.

Mandolin brothers are great and still kicking. Retrofret (Musurgia) is another great option.

thanks for the replies - I knew about Mandolin and Carmine St., had not heard of Retrofret though. I've been meaning to take a trip out to SI to check out Mandolin though, so maybe this is just the excuse I need!

thanks again!

+1 for Mandolin Brothers
Roger Sadowsky.
Flip Scipio (former head of Mandolin Brothers).
I don't know who's at the bench at Matt Umanov's shop, but I'll bet they're good.
Likewise for Rudy's Music.
Peekamoose.
Evan Gluck at New York Guitar Repair.
Google, pick up the phone, ask fellow guitarists, and you're going to find some of the best repair techs in the universe in NYC. Don't forget to include the bouroughs and Jersey - that Manhattan real estate ain't cheap.

I'll definitely put in another +1 for retrofret. One of my best friends used to do repairs there until he moved out here to LA, and the quality and care they put into their work there seemed really amazing. I'm not sure who's doing repair work for them now, or what the other folks there are like (all my repair needs were taken care of by my friend), but the fact that they hired him speaks alot to me since he does the best guitar work I've ever seen and played.

edit - I will say that I spent a bunch of time there and every instrument I picked up looked and played/sounded great to me.

I expect you'll have a great experience at Retrofret (also called Musurgia or New York String Service).
They have done several minor repairs for me as well as restorations of three instruments: An Ernie Ball Earthwood Acoustic Bass that had a collapsing top. A 1947 Gibson J45 neck reset where the heel had shattered many years ago and steamed out in pieces. And a 1931 Gibson HG-22 that needed a lot of work that was difficult because that model guitar has an internal framework in the body. Very little room to work.
Their work was amazing on all counts. I wouldn't go to anyone else.

Check out my website for cool songs recorded and played by me with Steve Goulding of the Mekons on drums. Drums were recorded by our own Joel H at Studio G.
